Such an exciting time, and what a wonderful threading of themes here, Stew. Of course I love that you are creating space for things to grow, in so many ways, but this round, I am smitten most by your mother's letter. She must have been quite the force.
Please give Molly a wraparound hug from us...if you can. It might take both of you!
My mom was the first woman of the congregation of our church NOT to wear a hat. Early 1960s. Somewhere there is a letter to our reverend about that. Ha!
Congratulations to you four! So happy for y’all. What a blessing. The most satisfying thing I have experienced in these last 5 years is seeing to pride and love on my own children’s face from the latest achievement of my granddaughters. Can’t explain it, but you too will feel it soon.
We are looking forward to the experience you describe. As a friend of mine recently observed, “There is absolutely no downside to being a grandparent; it’s all good.”
Plant the seeds! What an extraordinary new chapter for you and your family. My heart is full reading this. The excerpt of your mother’s letter allowed a glimpse of your own beginnings, and Busy and baby Molly! Oh my . Thank you for your seeds of hope and joy at a time when my practice is cultivating both. Sending so much love, sue
This brought me such peace and joy dear Stew after a long, long day and week at work. Your words are always so beautiful and descriptive. And what an experience it would have been to meet your mother! We are anxiously awaiting the news of the birth of Molly's son and your grandson. We love you all so much!
Thanks, Lynn! Your daughter was just the biggest best help. Showed up at our door, packed boxes, got carry-out dinner from Samantha’s. We were meeting the owners for the first time, so we invited them to dinner - all five of us. I’ll remember it always; a perfect closing ceremony.
Beautifully expressed, Stew! I also love your mother’s letter - I’m sure she and all the ancestors are happily awaiting the birth of Molly’s baby boy. Love and blessings to all of you in this magical new chapter.

Hug given, and it did take both of us. Week 39.

Thanks, Sue Stockman. Molly loved hearing your note. Her face got bright, she sighed and said “Sue!” Love all ‘round.

Thanks, Candida, for your well wishes. Should be any day now
What a beautiful column. Good luck to Molly!
Thanks, Meg.
So glad to be "here" with you and the Grahams, Stew.
